POSITIVE ACTION ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKE (DC)
The properties of this type of brake are:
- Brake exercised by magnetic attraction, the brake must be energized.
- During rotation the brake is not energized
- Very high braking torques available at low rotation speeds.
When the brake is not powered, the engine shaft is in a condition to rotate freely, as opposed to all types of negative action.
Brake action is generated by the magnetic attraction of the coil, which attracts the rotating shaft integral with the crankshaft. The braking torque obtained by friction is thus only possible with the brake energized, which is why it is said to be positive, therefore not suitable as a safety brake.
Depending on the requirements, we can give the power supply / rectifier, but given the characteristic of the brake (positive), its power is always separate from the engine.
The standard coils have a 200V DC supply voltage, but in this series, the power supply-rectifier is not mounted, but different solutions and voltages are available on request.
